EARPLUGS
HEARING PROTECTION CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR NEEDS
Why should you consider custom ear plugs?
Your hearing is a precious resource. Sensorineural hearing loss, once present, is permanent. If you are exposed to high levels of sound either at work or through hobbies such as music production, concert going, firearm practice, or construction (not a complete list) – it is highly recommend that you protect your ears. Standard “sound protection” sold over the counter such as foam ear plugs are often not ideal for a number of reasons:
The protection afforded is limited to certain frequencies of sound. The nature of the material decreases it’s effectiveness.
Often the user does not “properly” insert the over the conter ear plug, which limits the amount of noise reduction
They are “one size fits most”, and don’t offer a complete seal in ears post-surgery, or hard to fit ear canals

TYPES OF EAR PLUGS

SOLID HEAR PLUGS
Solid ear plugs are the standard in custom ear plugs. They support the user in a variety of noisy environments including occupational, recreational firearm use, or power tool use. The solid ear plug has many color and style options to fit your needs. You should speak with your audiologist about your purpose for obtaining ear plugs. The audiologist will work with you to determine the options to fit your lifestyle.

MUSICIAN PLUGS
Our preferred sound protection device is known as “musician’s ear plugs”. This is an equal frequency reduction method, allowing excellent safety without a compromise in sound quality. These ear plugs are great for recreational musicians, concert enthusiasts, or gym class attendee (those spin classes are loud!)
These are custom molded to your ear canal by our audiologists. Please specify your interest in this product when you call.

SLEEP EAR PLUGS
If you are disrupted by sound while you sleep, this is an excellent choice for you. Sleep ear plugs are made of a soft, comfortable material. They completely seal your ear canal to reduce as much ambient noise as possible to enhance your sleep.

SWIMMING EAR PLUGS
Many people wear ear plugs when swimming. Ear plug use is important if you experience recurrent ear infections, have a history of outer or middle ear issues, or recently underwent ear surgery. Additionally, some people find it more comfortable to swim with ear plugs as they do not like the feeling of water in their ears. Swimming ear plugs are made from a floatable material, and come in a variety of fun colors!
